1965 Shelby 289 Cobra
1965 Shelby 289 Cobra, CSX2524, late production 289 with rack and pinion steering, original colors of White with red, fully documented in World Registry of Cobras, interesting early events when CSX2524 was loaned when new in January 1965 to Yamaha International Corporation in Los Angeles for an advertising photo shoot, where it was promptly crashed. CSX2524 was sent for repairs and sale to Shelby’s retail operation, Hi-Performance Motors, Inc., at which time the color changed to black and the replacement fenders flared as they look today. The Cobra retains its original engine, wire wheels, correct gauges and clock, weather equipment, a beautifully aged original interior and has just received a major servicing. While not pure as the moment it left the factory, CSX2524 sits today as it has for the past 50+ years and comes to us out of a noted private USA collection where it has been for over a decade.
